The Chanel Slingback

In Chanel F/W 2015, Karl Lagerfeld reinterpreted the slingback in beige, giving a daring amount of cleavage toe underneath its black cap toes. A strap square heel, revising the proportions: “The slingback gives grace to the leg,” he commented at the end of the show.

The two-tone shoe requires over 75 manufacturing steps done over two hours of painstaking work at the factory of Italian Roveda, site of production of footwear CHANEL. Its manufacturing is the result of a perfect combination of savoir-faire and artisanal production technologies.

The shoe is composed of vamp (the upper part of the shoe), the mounting insole (intermediate element between the upper and the base of the shoe), the soles (internal and external) and the heel.
