Museum Event Helps Mexico's Poorest At Dallas Museum

On June 6, 2008 at the Crow Collection of Asian Art in downtown Dallas, Joseph Noble Incorporated, in partnership with Lucy Billingsley, will sponsor a benefit for the Chiapas Project, a micro-credit organization whose goal is to eradicate poverty in one of Mexico's poorest cities. Similar to Joseph Noble Incorporated's highly successful event held last year at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago benefiting the Grameen Foundation, the evening underscores an ongoing commitment to help eradicating poverty through organizations that help families lift themselves out of poverty with grace and dignity.

Buy a Ticket, Have a Drink, Win a Chair, Change a Life

The evening will feature great design, both contemporary and historic. A very modern Herman Miller/Geiger chair, upholstered in a contemporary Joseph Noble Technology Leather, will be perched in front of a 15th century seated Bodhisattva Buddha. Five sleek chrome HBF "Cortona" side chairs, upholstered in a beautiful new jacquard fabric from Joseph Noble Textiles, will be lined up the length of Gallery Two, positioned along side rows of Qing dynasty jade snuff bottles from the 16th century. There will be 5 or 6 examples of this kind of "juxtaposition" throughout the Crow Museum the evening of the event. All items of furniture will be available through silent auction the evening of the event, with all monies raised going directly to the Chiapas Project.

Sharing the Same Planet through Giving Back

With tickets available for this event at $75.00 each, the simple act of purchasing two tickets can "lift an individual out of extreme poverty for a lifetime" says Trisha Bridges at the Chiapas Project in Dallas. With the evening being underwritten by Joseph Noble Incorporated, 100% of all monies raised through the sale of tickets, as well as from the silent auction and three levels of sponsorship, go directly to Chiapas Project.

Design Students Earn Ticket through Submission

In collaboration with Joseph Noble Incorporated and GreatDesign.com, students from four select local design schools will compete for the opportunity to receive complimentary tickets to the event, giving them a chance to meet with local professional interior designers from the D/FW area. Interested students are being asked to submit a brief essay defining in less than 100 words their opinion of what makes "great design". Winners will also be published in the premiere issue of GreatDesign.com. Participating colleges are the Art Institute of Dallas, El Centro College, University of North Texas and Texas Christian University (TCU). Amy Dahm, assistant professor of interior design at TCU says that "as an educator, I greatly appreciate it when the design community reaches out to the next generation of designers".
